Current Plans - Improve the Greens/Course Drainage & Install Biomass Boiler
Over the next five years the club intends to at least:-
- improve the drainage on a number of greens & the land containing the 4th to 6th and 14th to 16th holes
- build a second new shed
- install security barriers on the car park
To achieve the above and more, we are installing a new biomass boiler. making use of the government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme to finance it & provide an income and saving of approximately £10,000 per annum for the next 20 years.

Outlane Golf Club celebrated its centenary in 2006. Situated to the north of Huddersfield and close to the M62 (approximately one mile from Junction 23 if travelling east, two miles from Junction 24 if travelling west), it is an 18 hole moorland course of some 6000 yards, renowned for its friendliness.
Visitors are very welcome, but check by phone first.
The last few years have seen major investments in the course and clubhouse, culminating in 2010 with the reconstruction of the 7th and 8th greens. At the same time, typifying the spirit of the club, a group of members have funded and constructed a new clubhouse balcony. During early May 2011 we installed Solar Photovoltaic panels, (from local company & club sponsor Solarlex) allowing us to generate 10% of our own electricity. Current projects include additional pipe drainage on the 4th, 5th, 13th & 15th greens and a new building to house course machinery
If you are travelling from further afield, refer to the Stay & Play page for a hotel & golf package. Halifax and Huddersfield have some 23 excellent golf courses if you want to plan a major golf holiday.
